As a specialist in the field of finite element structural analysis, CDH has many years of experience in the applications of modern computer aided engineering tools to the solution of industry noise and vibration problems. CDH proprietary software is used in the vibration design departments of most of the leading international automobile manufacturers. In recognition of the importance of research and development to ensure the long-term competitiveness of CDH technology, CDH is a partner in an EU sponsored, Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnership and Pathways (IAPP) Project together with the University of Sussex, UK. In this connection, CDH is now offering the following doctorate scholarship, from March 2010, to a suitably qualified candidate.
CDH Scholarship for Doctorate Research in Vehicle Vibration
(COMVEBONOV) The University of Sussex, UK
The successful candidate will be required to register and undertake research for approximately 3 years leading to a doctor of Philosophy in Engineering at the University of Sussex, UK. This green-campus university enjoys a first-class academic reputation, and, being located near the seaside town of Brighton on the UK south east coast, offers a lively and varied cultural and social life. Doctoral studies will include a period of around 9 months at CDH software development centre in Herbolzheim, near Freiburg in southern Germany.
Research will be conducted within the scope of the COMVEBONOV project in the area of structural vibration, with particular emphasis on uncertain structures and mid- and high frequency methods such as FEA, EFEA, SEA and hybrid methods.
CDH will pay university registration fees, relocation expenses and provide a monthly living allowance of Euro 1.200 to the successful candidate. It is expected that, following successful completion of doctoral studies leading to the award of the DPhil, the candidate will return to Germany to work as a staff member of the engineering development staff of CDH for a minimum period of 2 years.
