The predecessor to CDH AG, CDH Gesellschaft für angewandte Strukturmechanik mbH, was founded in 1990 in Augsburg, Germany by the following persons:

Dr Leo W. Dunne und
Dave Herting

The founders were acknowledged experts in the development and application of finite element methods, with particular know-how in MSC.Nastran®:  

The motivation at that time was provide specialist know-how and consultancy services to the growing finite-element user community from industries such as the aerospace, automotive, general engineering and marine sectors.
Today CDH AG, registered at the commercial court in Augsburg, Germany employs a total of more than 50 staff in Germany, Japan and the United States.
