Dear AMLS/FastFRS user,
we are pleased to inform you that CDH/AMLS version 5.3 and CDH/FastFRS version 2.3 (revision 170) is now available.
1. CDH/AMLS - Enhancements version 5.3.r170 compared to 5.2.r192
- Increase maximum number of CPU-cores from 48 to 64
- Solver internal enhancements for improved accuracy, particularly for higher frequency analysis or models dominantly consisting of solid elements
- Performance optimizations for Phase2 of AMLS (tree build)
- Added support for AMD-EPYC based hardware systems (preferably >= Zen4)
- Added support for RedHat 9 based distributions (e.g. also for binary compatible distributions like Rocky 9)
- Added support for Debian based Linux distributions (e.g. Ubuntu)
- Generic interface supports i8 format (to handle extremely large models)
- Several minor enhancements and bugfixes
- Introduction of user parameters AMLSACC and AMLSFACC, which replace SS2GCR and SS2GCRF respectively
- Added user parameter DISJOINF in MSC-Nastran for models containing multiple disconnected fluid components
- Added support for MSC-Nastran 2024.1
- Added support for SimCenter/NX-Nastran 2312, 2406
- Support automatic calculation of residual vectors for fluid loads by AMLSF in SimCenter/NX-Nastran (in case the RESVEC statement contains APPLOD (default))
- Issue error message at an earlier stage in AMLS runs if ‘amls_assign’ is not included
- SimCenter/NX-Nastran support output of fluid mode shapes for subcase MFREQ=MODES in sol 111
2. CDH/FastFRS - Enhancements version 2.3.r170 compared to 2.2.r192:
- Increase maximum number of CPU-cores from 48 to 64
- Improved quality of responses and reduced the memory requirement for the full rank strategy
- Enhanced decision logic for choosing the most efficient strategy
- Improved parallel performance in the frequency dependent work for very large models
- Improved memory checks and reporting
- General minor bug fixes
3. Nastran Delivery Data Bases (DDB)
In this release the DDB for the following versions of Nastran are available:MSC: 2020.1, 2021.4, 2022.4, 2023.1, 2023.2, 2023.3, 2023.4, 2024.1
NX/SC: 2020.2, 2021.2, 2022.1, 2206.1, 2212, 2306, 2312, 2406
4. Nastran Delivery Data Bases (DDB) for Advanced Acoustic Solver Interface (AASI)
CDH Advanced Acoustic Solver Interface (AASI) is a new special DDB which offers a number of more advanced features compared to the standard AMLS DDBs. The current release includes the following features:- CDH/AASI-PEM is a new AMLS/FastFRS based interface to efficiently solve acoustic simulations containing porous elastic materials (PEM) from MSC Nastran/ACTRAN
- CDH/AASI-FastPPF is a new highly efficient algorithm for computing Panel Participation Factors (PPF)
- CDH/AASI-MonteCarlo is a new highly efficient implementation of Monte-Carlo simulations using a non-parametric method
NOTE: Use of AASI DDB requires a CDH/AASI license additional to AMLS/FastFRS license.
Key advantages of CDH/AASI
- Up to 10x times reduced computation time compared to MSC Nastran (FastPPF)
- Significantly lower disk space resource requirements
- Improved stability and performance of AASI for high frequency analysis
Caution:
- For AMLS 5.3, FlexLM daemon v11.19.5.0 and an AMLS version 5.3 specific license file are required
- Starting from AMLS 5.3 the installation package available from CDH Cloud includes all AMLS executables, delivery databases (DDBs), FlexLM daemon, manuals and demonstration examples.
- The AMLS-Nastran user parameter SS2GCR and SS2GCRF in AMLS 5.2 are outdated and have been replaced in AMLS 5.3 by new parameters AMLSACC and AMLSFACC.
- For MSC-Nastran, the AMLS parameter DISJOINF should now be used to allow multiple disconnected Fluid meshes.
- All DDBs in the current release can only be used by AMLS executable from 5.3.r170 and higher revision versions.
