Dear AMLS/FastFRS user,
we are pleased to inform you that CDH/AMLS version 5.3 and CDH/FastFRS version 2.3 (revision 262) is now available.
1. CDH/AMLS - Enhancements version 5.3.r262 compared to 5.3.r170
- New GPU feature to improve AMLS performance for large models and higher frequency analyses. See section 3 for details.
- Added user parameter AMLSNGPU to specify the maximum number of GPU boards to use.
- Enhanced reporting of memory allocation information to the Nastran .log file.
- Added DDB support for MSC-Nastran 2024.2.
- Added DDB support for Simcenter/NX-Nastran 2412.
- Added user parameter AMLSMEM, which replaces the deprecated MEM parameter.
- Supports fractional memory input using the AMLSMEM parameter (e.g., a value of 0.2 implies allocation of 20% of available machine memory for AMLS).
- Parameter AMLSCMP support for EXTSEOUT superelement for models including both structure and fluid (MSC-Nastran only).
- Improvement for EXTSEOUT structure-only superelement support for NX-Nastran.
- Supports grid participation factor computation: PFGRID in MSC-Nastran and GRDCON in NX-Nastran, including acoustic fluid grid participation factors in MSC-Nastran.
- Added support for PARAM, KDAMP and PARAM, KDAMPFL with a value of “-1”.
- Improved numerical stability for models with ill-conditioned residual vector loads.
- Runtime improvements in ERP computations with NX-Nastran.
- Automatic application of residual load vectors for enforced motion SPCD loads in SOL 111 and 112. Case Control RESVEC(APPLOD)=NO is ignored for such enforced motion cases.
- Improved warning and error messages in f06 in case of AMLS license or installation issues.
- Several minor enhancements and bug fixes.
2. CDH/FastFRS - Enhancements version 2.3.r262 compared to 2.3.r170:
- New GPU feature to increase FastFRS performance for very lare models and analyses with many modes (e. g. plastic parts and / or high-frequency simulations). See section 3 for details.
- Added user parameter FFRSNGPU to specify the maximum number of GPU boards to use.
- Enhancement in computation cases for AASI NVPM and MCM approaches.
- Runtime information written by FastFRS to the Nastran .log file overhauled to improve clarity.
- Improved error checking and messages for DTI input in FastFRS ODS feature.
- The step-1 run for FD elements and FRF substructuring automatically generates DMIG input file required for step-2.General minor bug fixes.
3. Supported GPU Boards
AMLS and FastFRS support the use of high-end Nvidia GPUs in their calculations. This is especially useful for large scale analysis with many modes.Supported GPU boards include Nvidia A100, H100, H200 (or newer) with 80GB of memory or more. Please contact CDH support in case of interest in a GPU trial license.4. Nastran Delivery Data Bases (DDB)
In this release the DDB for the following versions of Nastran are available:MSC: 2021.4, 2022.4, 2023.1, 2023.2, 2023.3, 2023.4, 2024.1, 2024.2NX/SC: 2021.2, 2022.1, 2206, 2212, 2306, 2312, 2406, 2412 5. Nastran Delivery Data Bases (DDB) for Advanced Acoustic Solver Interface (AASI) CDH Advanced Acoustic Solver Interface (AASI) is a new special DDB which offers a number of more advanced features compared to the standard AMLS DDBs. The current release includes the following features:
Download Link:- CDH/AASI-PEM is a new AMLS/FastFRS based interface to efficiently solve acoustic simulations containing porous elastic materials (PEM) from MSC Nastran/ACTRAN
- CDH/AASI-FastPPF is a new highly efficient algorithm for computing Panel Participation Factors (PPF)
- CDH/AASI-MonteCarlo is a new highly efficient implementation of Monte-Carlo simulations using a non-parametric method
NOTE: Use of AASI DDB requires a CDH/AASI license additional to AMLS/FastFRS license.
Key advantages of CDH/AASI
- Up to 10 times reduced computation time compared to MSC Nastran (FastPPF)
- Significantly lower disk space resource requirements
- Improved stability and performance of AASI for high frequency analysis
CAUTIONS
- For AMLS 5.3, FlexLM daemon v11.19.5.0 and an AMLS version 5.3 specific license file are required. Both the updated daemon and license file are fully backward compatible with legacy AMLS 5.2 versions. Please see the installation manual for detailed instructions.
- Starting from AMLS 5.3 the installation package available from CDH Cloud includes all AMLS executables, delivery databases (DDBs), FlexLM daemon, manuals and demonstration examples. For some users, this change might require slight adjustment of their existing installation procedures, but the fundamentals of how to install and use AMLS remain the same. Please refer the updated AMLS 5.3 installation guide for instructions.
- The AMLS-Nastran user parameter SS2GCR and SS2GCRF in AMLS 5.2 are outdated and have been replaced in AMLS 5.3 by new parameters AMLSACC and AMLSFACC. Please refer to the AMLS user manual for detailed instructions.
- For MSC-Nastran, the AMLS parameter DISJOINF should now be used to allow multiple disconnected Fluid meshes. For multiple structural meshes the corresponding parameter continues to be DISJOINT.
- In future releases only the latest sub-version of older Nastran releases will be supported by AMLS. For example, for MSC 2021.0 - 2021.4, only the latest sub-version MSC 2021.4 will officially be supported. Similarly, for Simcenter/NX-Nastran, only 2021.2 will officially supported. Please upgrade to these Nastran versions accordingly.
- This is the last AMLS delivery database release that officially supports MSC-Nastran 2021.4 and Simcenter/NX-Nastran 2021.2 by default.
